Is it possible to process an MMS message and forward it to an E-Mail address but have the text body of the MMS message in the actual body of the Email and not as a MIME attachment ?

Hi Steve,

If a message contains multiple parts, then MIME has to be used, and text becomes one of the MIME parts.

Generally speaking, if the first part of the MIME message is text, e-mail clients display that part as text.

But NowSMS keeps the order of the message parts in the e-mail to match the order in the MMS message. And frequently, if you send an MMS from a phone, you start with a picture, and then add some text to it ... so the text part is second, after the picture part.

That said, we did recently make some changes to NowSMS so that while we still maintain the original order of the message parts, for text parts we include a MIME header to tell the receiving client that the text should be treated as "inline" (meaning to be displayed as part of what we'd consider the text body of the message). This makes a difference with many e-mail clients.

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly when this change was made, as for some reason it isn't listed in our changes log. But I know that a change was made because a mobile operator that uses NowSMS as their MMSC requested this change, and I can see in quick test that v5.51k does this differently than v5.51.

So if you're not running v5.51k, give it a try. You can download it at
