I'm using the settings as described here
http://www.t-zones.co.uk/en/Getting_started/help_with_tzones/mms.html

However, I'm still getting Error 734. These settings are working on my MMS capable phone. NowSMS is working fine for sending / receiving SMS messages. Is there something obvious I might be doing wrong? Or something I can test to help work out the problem?

Regards,
Jake

Hi Jake,

I would like to see the MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG that shows your connection attempt, to see if that provides any clues.

The easiest way to enable this log is via the "Serial #" page of the configuration dialog.

Also, note that there are two "Login Name" and "Password" fields when defining an MM1 connection in most versions of NowSMS. You want to be configuring the "user"/"one2one" settings in the "Login Name" and "Password" field below "GPRS APN".

This is odd... I used an Orange sim card and settings. It passed the test first time then failed every test after that (same error as above).

I can't make it generate the log file now either, it doesn't seem to write the file despite the box being ticked. I uninstalled the software and reintalled, still fails, still doesn't log.

Some of my MMS settings were still there when I reinstalled, how do I do a complete uninstall?

Jake.

More oddness

I borrowed a bluetooth dongle from a friend to test the system. It did the same thing again, but I got the log files through this time.

Also, my phone is displaying an error message, but it's only for a fraction of a second, I think it says "Subscribe to GPRS first"

Why's it passing the test but then failing a second test?

After searching the forum, could the problem be related to this http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/2475. html

I've solved this problem. The 6310i has an option to set the APN of the GPRS modem. It seems that this was overwriting the Now SMS settings, but only when it felt like it. Setting it to the same settings in Now SMS solved the problem.

I still can't receive MMS messages... different problem so will start another thread.

Glad to hear that is resolved. It is normal (with many devices) to see the bit in the MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG where sometimes the APN is there, and sometimes it is not. Some phones will lose these settings after a modem reset, forcing us to re-add it.

But it sounds like that phone may have been ignoring what NowSMS sets for the preferred APN, and using the setting configured on the phone.
