Hello, is it possible to install NowSMS in silent mode? We need this for Customers to install and configure NowSMS automatically over a self build setup-programm. thx Christoph Zierl | |||

Hi Christoph, Running the installer with a "/silent" command line parameter will almost do what you want. I notice that if NowSMS is already installed, it will pop-up a command window to stop the services before updating the files, and then restart them afterward, but that shouldn't present any problems. The only real problem that I see with the "/silent" option is that after the installation is complete, there is a "NowSMS" window that is left open on the screen. I talked to the person who put together our install routine, and he says that this is easy enough to remove. There's a command in our install script that causes this window to be opened, and the script can easily be modified not to do this if installing in silent mode. -bn | |||

Dear Bryce, I didn't got a mail when you posted, and missed your answer until now. I am very interrested in that script paramter, but I cant find the script file in the self extracting zip file. Could you please give me a hint where that script is located and which parameter needs to be changed? Tanks in advance, Christoph | |||

Hi Christoph, The script is something that we have to modify when we create the installer. The change has been applied to the script, so that if the "/silent" parameter is present it does not open that "NowSMS" window at the end of the dialog. However, we still have the same version 5.0 installer here for download on our web site. The v5.01 installer (which includes this change) is due to be uploaded this week. So if you can hold on a few more days, we should have a complete solution for this. -bn | |||

We haven't posted a public notice about it yet, but the current download was updated to v5.01 last week, and it should support a "/silent" parameter on the installer. | |||
