Bryce:

I tried to submit a pre-compiled MMS file using URL-based submission, but the ".MMS" file appears as an attachment on the phone instead of MMS. is it a bug?
I use http://URL/?PhoneNumber=12345678901&MMSFile=http://URL/abc.MMS

Hi Min,

We probably should support that. But we don't.

The expectation is that if you have a URL for a pre-packaged MMS file, then you should use the "Send MMS Notification" for that URL instead.

That said, I am surprised that this doesn't work. So I've spent some time studying this today, and we're going to try to fix this for a future update.

Bryce,
Here's another question. When sending an MMS(webpage-based) to a group of phonenumbers, say 1000, can now MMS send 1000 times, one phonember at a time instead of sending one time to 1000 phones?

Min,

I just posted an update in another thread, which includes a fix for the above issue. http://www.nowsms.com/download/lars.zip

Regarding the sending of the MMS, generally speaking, such a message is going to go out one phone number at a time.

But, it does depend somewhat on the type of MMSC connection.

If NowSMS is the MMSC, then a single URL link is generated, and 1000 individual MMS notifications are generated (because each recipient needs to receive their own MMS notification, there is no way to multicast). If there are 10 or more recipients of the message, then all recipients are automatically treated as BCC.

If you're connecting via an operator MMSC, then there are default settings for how many recipients per message instance, based upon the MMSC type:
MM1 = 5
EAIF = 10
MM4 = 1
MM7 = 1000

It is possible to override the above defaults by manually editing VASPOUT\mmsc-outbound-route-name\VASP.INI, and adding MaxRecips=### under the [VASP] header.

Hi Bryce,
I think I am a trouble maker. Here is another question, is there anyway that NowSMS will wait a period time, say some seconds, after sending one MMS to a group when connection via an operator MMSC?

Thx a bunch!
