Sorry if this has been covered: searched but to no avail ;) q: Does the gsm modem (i.e. merlin g201) have a bearing on the ability to send/recieve MMS - or is it down to the sim Thanx! | |||

Hi Dan, Generally it is a SIM issue ... or at least it is tied to the SIM. It's a question of whether or not the phone is provisioned to the operator MMSC ... not any setting on the actual SIM. (Theoretically, an MMSC could query the SS7 network to determine the device type ... but there is not an "MMS" flag that could be checked, so they'd have to maintain a list of all MMS compatible devices which would not be practical.) -bn | |||
