Hi all,

I have a problem receive the MMS with Swisscom in Switzerland. Here my configuration:

Modem: Siemens MC35Terminal

I configure it to receive SMS and MMS and here the data:

APN: event.swisscom.ch
USR/PWD: gprs/gprs (can be empty)

I have to use a GPRS connection to go read the MMS on the Swisscom Server, so for Network Connection I setup the MC35 and I try to use it.

The test connection works fine. What's wrong? I can use the MC35 to receive and send SMS/MMS simultaneus.

Thanks in advance and have a nice day, Davide

ok, now I need really some help. what I do is to install another gsm phone so I can make a GPRS connection to the mms server of swisscom. the data for the connection are correct, i checked it twice with swisscom and are:

mms url: mms.natel.ch:8079
wap gatewy: 192.168.210.2
apn: event.swisscom.ch

without username and password (if you want you can use gprs/gprs).

now the test connection works fine but I can't receive any mms into my inbox, all the mms in the queue become BAD and the mmswapdebug.log report a
strange error.

please someone help me.

Hi Davide,

Sorry, I've had a hard time catching up after vacation (and prepping for a major new release at the same time).

Your settings certainly look correct, at least based upon what I can find on the internet.

Basically when we try to retrieve the MMS message, we are getting a "file not found" error back.

This would generally suggest that the settings are not correct ... specifically the APN or WAP gateway.

I'm curious ... can you send an MMS message through the operator MMSC using those settings? (Configure an outbound route with those settings on the "MMSC Routing" page of the configuration, and make that the default route.)

Also ... hmm ... wait a minute ... one thing I do not understand.

I'm confused that the log says "RAS connection NowSMS - Sony Ericsson T610 Series Serial Modem is already active" ... when that phone couldn't be used to receive an MMS notification. The MMS message needs to be retrieved by the same device that receives the MMS notification ... so you have to have the modem configured for both SMS and MMS (at least in the real world).

I'd like to see an MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG with the MC35 doing the message retrieval. I'd like to see if it is also getting this "404 Not Found" error, or if it is getting a different error.

Also, I'd like you to try this ... Edit MMSC.INI, and under the [MMSC] header, add:

HeaderUserAgent=SonyEricssonT610/R101 Profile/MIDP-1.0
HeaderProfile=http://wap.sonyericsson.com/UAprof/T610R101.xml

NowSMS will send some of the same headers that a SonyEricsson T610 MMS client would, and perhaps that will make the MMSC respond differently.
