I wanted to connect Nokia 3230 as a GSM modem using NOW SMS gateway. I was able to connect it at first but now it refuses to connect. The following messages are displayed: "Error 80000048 from lineOpen" AND "Unable to access modem, ensure that it is powered on and passes diagnostic tests" Can you tell me what might be the problem. | |||

This error usually means that another application already has the port open. Only one application can access a modem at a time. If you have Nokia PC Suite loaded, that application scans for mobile phones and automatically opens connections to them ... so stop Nokia PC Suite. Check for any other mobile phone related software that might be in the way. You might also want to go into the Windows Control Panel ... Phone & Modem Options ... find the Diagnostics area for the modem, and select "Query Modem". I expect this will also return an error message, but the error message might provide more detail than the error from NowSMS. -bn | |||
