Hello, i am using the nowsms v5.51 with the latest patch updates.
Although most of the things work fine there are some small things that dont.
1. i am trying to send a wap multimedia message but i need to be able to choose the outbound route. i have been reading extensivelly the forums and found answers to my problem but doesnt seem to work.

I have associated every gateway in my smsgw.ini with a route name and when posting to nowsms i include to my http link smscroute=routename but it doesnt seem to work. All outbound traffic go out depending on the routing configuration i have and not depending on the smscroute name i have added to the post.

2. Also i am trying to pass some extra variables using ExtraHttpArgList=var1,var2,var3 but when i try to request them from the other side variables dont appear.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

kind regards

Hi,

1.) Sorry, the SMSCRoute parameter is not supported for Multimedia WAP Push or MMS messages.

That is something we can evaluate for future versions. But right now, because Multimedia WAP Push and MMS messages go through the MMSC, the MMSC does not understand this routing directive.

2.) I need more specific details (and preferably debug logs). I don't know enough about your configuration to answer this question.

Unlike #1, the ExtraHttpArgList variables are forwarded to an outbound HTTP SMSC connection, even when you use multimedia WAP push.

In fact, now that I think about it, you might be able to enable support for the "SMSCRoute" parameter for multimedia WAP Push messages by adding it to the ExtraHttpArgList setting. (But it would have an extra side effect of also passing this parameter to your HTTP SMSC connection, which might not be desirable.)

Hello bruce,
thank you for your reply. I managed to pass the variables i needed to the other side and i also tried what you told me to do

but when i try to post to nowsms in order to send a wap push multimedia message i get the following responseback

<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>
Invalid Parameter
</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><H1>
Error: Invalid Parameter
</H1>
Unknown smscRoute=internetq
</BODY></HTML>

Am i missing something out??

Thank you very much in advance. looking forward to ur reply

Hi,

That means that we're not finding an "smscRoute" for "internetq".

Do you have a "RouteName=internetq" setting under one of the SMSC sections of SMSGW.INI (e.g., [Modem - x], [SMPP - x] or [HTTP - x])?
