Hi Bryce,

I am using NowSMS v2006.04.03 as MMSC.

I have gone chiefly :
The message is sent from mobiles with MM1, and the message is received from mobiles with MM1 via SMS Gateway of NowSMS and my SMSC.

Even if X-Mms-Delivery-Report of M-Send.Req is Yes, NowSMS doesn't output M-Delivery.Ind when Enable MMS Delivery Receipts of the MMSC tab is not checked.
Then, I put check in Enable MMS Delivery Receipts.

However,
NowSMS came to disregard M-NotifyResp.Ind.

I understand the flow of immediate retrieval as follows.
1. MMSC submits M-Notification.Ind to Recipient MMS client.
2. Recipient submits HTTP/WSP GET Request to MMSC.
3. MMSC submits M-Retrieve.Conf to Recipeint.
4. Recipient submits NotifyResp.Ind to MMSC.
5. If X-Mms-Report-Allowed of NotifyResp.Ind is Yes, MMSC submits M-Delivery.Ind to Originator MMS client.

But, NowSMS submits M-Delivery.Ind while transmitting M-Retrieve.Conf.
Therefore, even if X-Mms-Report-Allowed of M-NotifyResp.Ind is No, M-Delivery.Ind is transmitted.

In the previous version that there wasn't Enable MMS Delivery Receipts, X-Mms-Delivery-Report and X-Mms-Report-Allowed were effective.

I want you to make X-Mms-Delivery-Report and X-Mms-Report-Allowed effective.

Thank you.

Hi Nambu,

You are correct. NowSMS ignores the X-Mms-Report-Allowed setting within M-NotifyResp.Ind.

If a delivery report was requested, it always will generate one. It does not allow the receiving client to suppress the delivery report by the above referenced option.

The reason behind this is because NowSMS is often used in configurations where it is the secondary MMSC. In such a configuration, the M-NotifyResp.Ind will never even be received by NowSMS.

That is why we implemented it this way, to deal with those types of configurations.

This is the way that it has always worked in NowSMS ... current and past versions. The option to disable MMS delivery receipts is somewhat new, but the only behaviour that it changes is that it suppresses all delivery receipts. (This option was added at the request of a specific customer.)

That said, we should revisit this issue and support X-Mms-Report-Allowed, we would just need a configuration option to enable this, because it is not good for environments where NowSMS is a secondary MMSC.

Hi Bryce,

I want the option "According to X-Mms-Report-Allowed" in NowSMS.
But, you do not have will make it.

I am very disappointed.
