Hi, I've downloaded a trial version of MMS SDK (www.mmssdk.com) for testing, which is supposed to tie to nowSMS. I'm able to send MMS using nowSMS's web interface, but when I tried to send using the sample program provide, the message seems to be sent but I don't receive the mms at the other end. Here is from the mmsc log: 2006-06-02 14:43:19,MMSOUT,VASP:M1_MMS,,+6597511377,OK,mms.MMS,25076 2006-06-02 15:55:48,MMSIN,127.0.0.1,zell,+6597511377,VASP:M1_MMS,E4BD7843.mms,14276 2006-06-02 15:56:37,MMSOUT,VASP:M1_MMS,zell/TYPE=PLMN,+6597511377,OK,E4BD7843.MMS,14469 I've attached the .mms file generated from MMSSDK. I'm suspecting that the error comes from the composed MMS file. Please enlighten. Thanks & Rgds

Hi, I don't have any experience using that tool. But one thing that can frequently cause messages to be accepted by an operator MMSC, but not delivered, is if the sender address is invalid. When you configured the "MMSC Routing" definition in NowSMS (GPRS modem connection) ... did you leave the "Default Sender Address" field blank ... and "Allow Sender Address Override" UNchecked? If you did that, then NowSMS would ignore your sender address, and an invalid sender address would not cause a problem. -bn

Hi Bryce, we found that the messages were received a few hours later. Maybe you can some idea of what is happenening ? Yes, the "Default Sender Address" is left blank and "Aloow Sender Address Override" is unchecked. Thanks & Rgds Zell

Hi Zell, That is odd. I don't have any idea what would cause these messages to be delayed for hours. Is it consistent? I mean, do MMS messages sent via the web interface form always get delivered quickly ... but these messages take hours? I can't see any reason why this would be. I can only figure that for some reason the message is getting into some queue for more intensive processing at the mobile operator ... but I don't know why that would be. I'd suggest trying to create some more different messages with different content to see if you notice any patterns. -bn |
