The handset authentication does not alway seem to work consistently in NowMMS v2006

I have NowSMS installed on two servers. One of the servers works well with the Zynetix GSM network - via an SMPP over IP interface.

The second server has been configured identically to the first - with the same MMS User information and the same SMPP configuration. Only one server is active at any one time as they are configured with identical IP addresses to reduce handset reconfiguration.

In the second installation the MMSCUSERS directory does not seem to generate a QTA file for each of the MSISDN's. This server does not currently allow handsets to send and receive MMS messages - whereas the first server has no problem

Any suggestions

Hi Paul,

Do the servers have the same MMSC.INI file settings?

In order for the MMSC to identify the sending user, it needs to have configuration parameters applied for how it receives the MSISDN of the sender from the network.

See http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-002.htm for discussion of these settings.

If these settings are identical, I think I'd need to see an MMSCDEBUG.LOG in order to understand the problem. The easiest way to enable the MMSCDEBUG.LOG is via a checkbox on the "Serial #" page of the configuration dialog.

It would help to see an MMSCDEBUG.LOG showing a submit attempt to the working server, and then the same device attempting submit to the non-working server.
