Hi,

I have an MMSC operator installed and I'm registered in the "MMSC Users" tab. Problem is that when I want to send an MMS to a cell phone which is NOT listed in the "MMSC Users" tab, it doesn't get there.
Please note that:
1. In the "MMSC Routing" tab, in the "Route messages to this account..." text box I inserted 20*, so that regular numbers should not get to the VASP.
2. In the MMSC.INI I have listed:
DisableMMSDirectDelivery=Yes

Plesase help,
Amir.

Hi Amir,

I'm not sure I have enough information to help you.

Let me ask you this ...

If you add one of the numbers that you are trying to send to .. to the "MMSC Users" list ... are you then able to send to them ok?

How are you submitting the MMS message ... via the NowSMS web interface?

It would probably help if you could enable the MMSCDEBUG.LOG (easiest to do this on the "Serial #" page of the configuration dialog). Then repeat your sending attempt ... one that works, and one that does not ... and post your MMSCDEBUG.LOG so that I can see what is happening and make some suggestions or ask some additional questions about your configuration.

Hi Bryce,

I will phrase the question in other words:
Is it possible to send MMS via the NowSMS MMSC to mobile phone that is not listed in the "MMSC Users" list?

Is the mobile phone of the recipient must be configured to point to the address of the NowSMS MMSC if he only wish to recieve MMS from the NowSMS MMSC (MMS that a 'register' sends)?

Till now it didn't work when we tried it.
We thought it might be related to the parameter "DisableMMSDirectDelivery",and that is the reason we configured it to be "=yes", but it didn't help so we guess it was a mistake.

Thanks,
Elad (Working with Amir).

Yes. (However, if you are submitting via SMTP/e-mail, the server will not accept messages via e-mail for phone numbers that are not in the list. The following thread talks more about this: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/3451.html.)

It depends on your mobile network, and whether or not the MMS settings on that network allow delivery from external MMSCs. (Please see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm for more discussion of these issue.)

By default, if a user is in the "MMSC Users" list, then NowSMS will always send MMS messages to the user via direct delivery (NowSMS acting as the MMSC).

If you set DisableMMSDirectDelivery=Yes, then NowSMS will ignore the fact that the user is in the "MMSC Users" list, and apply routing per the "MMSC Routing" tab instead.

This setting is primarily used for configurations where e-mail to MMS is the primary use, and you want the MMS messages to be routed via an operator MMSC with a GPRS modem.
