I have an Audiovox RTM8000 GSM Modem connected to my PC. When I first installed NowSMS, it was able to detect the card, as well as send and receive SMSs. After a few SMSs and MMSs however, NowSMS stopped working and kept giving me errors. Then, it says my modem does not support SMS anymore.

I have attached a SMSOUT logfile that shows my errors. Any ideas why this happens?

Maybe the SIM card in the modem is configured for a PIN?

That's about the only explanation that I can think of which might make sense.

How about stopping NowSMS ... and go into HyperTerminal ... connect to the COM port with the modem. Then issue the following commands:

AT+CSMS=0

AT+CMGF=0

NowSMS expects an OK response from each of those commands. If it doesn't get an OK, then that causes it to report that the modem does not support SMS.
