Hi Bryce,

Is it possible to have a CommandTimeOut=0? i.e. to skip waiting for a response? or will this stop the NowSMS from sending?

Hi Rhea,

The lowest allowable value for this setting is 1 (second). Meaning that we will wait for a maximum of 1 second for a response for an SMPP command before considering it a failure.

Setting it too low would basically just result in a lot of messages being retransmitted.

I can't remember exactly why we made this parameter configurable. I see another thread that discusses it (http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/11463.html), but even in that thread, I don't see a good reason to use this setting.

In that particular thread, the only reason NowSMS would start processing the queue from the beginning again is if the connection to the SMSC dropped. A timeout is not sufficient for this to occur, as after a timeout, NowSMS would attempt an enquire link before dropping the connection.

All said, I don't know what reason would exist for this parameter to be modified.
