Hi

We are trying to send mm7 messages from a VASP to an MMSC gateway. we have setup two installations of NowSMS - one acting as VASP and another acting as MMSC gateway.

As we send messages from VASP to MMSC gateway, the message reaches MMSC, but the message doesnt get stored in MMSIN directory. The logs say 'Connection not allowed'.
I am uploading snapshots of the settings done on both instances. The files in folder 'Gateway' refer to MMSC gateway instance and in folder 'VASP' refer to settings done on the VASP instance.

The message does reach from VASP to gateway. But there it says connection not allowed. The logs in VASP instance also say the same thing.

Can you pl. let us know the likely reason for this?

Hi,

I suspect that NowSMS is confused, much as I am looking at the logs and screen shots.

The one thing that confuses me the most is the use of IP addresses as the account names.

When you use an IP address as an account name for a VASP, this means that a VASP can connect from that IP address without specifying a username or password.

However, you also have passwords configured for accounts that have an IP address as the account name.

I would suggest that if you DO NOT use IP addresses as the account names, as there does not appear to be any reason to do so, and this seems to be contributing to much confusion.

Similarly, in many places "*" is defined under IP address restrictions. If you want any IP address to connect, leave that field blank.

So try removing those "*" characters from the IP address restrictions, and use names for the accounts instead of IP addresses.
