Hi!
Please ack me how I can know what OTA settings technologies support by phones: Nokia Smart Messaging, Nokia OTA settings, WAP OTA provisioning? Are exist any tables with + and - opposite the this technologies and phone models? Where I can find this information? In characteristics for users no such information. Are exist this characteristics for developers or NowSms users?

Hi,

We do not have any such tables. If any such tables are available, they would be provided by the phone manufacturers. (There is good information on the Nokia and SonyEricsson developer web sites, but the the other manufacturers are less forthcoming.)

Generally speaking, you would be using either "WAP OTA" or "OMA OTA". What we call "WAP OTA" actually refers to the Nokia/SonyEricsson OTA Specification. And "OMA OTA" refers to the "Provisioning Content" specification from the Open Mobile Alliance.

Generally speaking, older Nokia phones (pre-7650) use WAP OTA. Newer Nokia phones use OMA OTA.

The same goes for SonyEricsson, but they made their transition to OMA OTA a bit later (and some of the initial implementations were a bit quirky). I'd use OMA OTA for models since the K750, and WAP OTA for earlier models.

For other manufacturers, if they support OTA, then it is generallly OMA OTA (Provisioning Content). Note that many manufacturers require that you include at least a USERPIN to sign the OMA OTA message.
