i have a hardware which is a 8 serial port modem. i have successfully config it to receive MMS use the first port. Question: 1,Can NowSMS control all 8 ports at a time for recevie MMS(control 8 dialup connections) ? 2,Can i choose which port to send SMS using the web interface? 3,Can NowSMS receive SMS at a time? Waiting for your replay. Thanks!

Hi, 1.) If the modem appears as 8 separate COM ports, with a unique modem driver on each port, then yes. 2.) See http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/11908.html for a description of routing logic. (Note that MMS and SMS routing logic are handled separately. You can direct an MMS to be sent via a specific modem by submitting a message with that modem's sender address, but note that it is the sender address in the "MMSC Routing" definition, not the "SMSC" definition.) 3.) I think a word or two was dropped from your question, so please repost. -bn

Thanks for your answer! my question 3 should be: 3,Can NowSMS receive SMS using all 8 ports at a time (not one by one, i mean concurrently)? and in question 1 i have another question: i can see NowSMS create 8 dialup connection, when 8 mms arrive to modem at a time can NowSMS dialup 8 connections and receive mms concurrently? i ask this because i have done a test, i dialup 2 connections, and when i browse the internet, i found all my data are send though the first connection, and i cann't switch to the second modem. i ask someone about this, he told me the route policy in windows depends on the dest ip address. so please help me to confirm this. Thank you very much!

Yes.
Yes.
Understood. The GRPS dialup connections created by NowSMS do not use the "default route" setting that you describe. All routings are defined manually. Do note that if you have multiple connections to the same operator, you will be best off using a WAP/WSP proxy instead of a WAP2/HTTP proxy. (Most of the operator settings that are provided in our "Lookup Operator Settings" list are WAP/WSP proxies. When you define a WAP2/HTTP proxy interface, you need to specify "http://" as a prefix under the "WAP Gateway IP Address" field in the NowSMS configuration ... so if that prefix is not present, you are using a WAP/WSP proxy, which will work better for multiple connections to the same operator.) -bn |
