Hi, Our application is currently sending MMS messages via nowSMS using MM7 and that has been working fine for a month or two now.

However we now need the ability to send an sms message in place of an MMS message that has failed.

Is it possible to have nowSMS configured such that it informs our application of failed MMS messages?

I guess what im after is a delivery failed notifcation.

Thanks in advance
Oli

Hi Oli,

An MMS delivery fails if the message is never retrieved by its recipient.

Currently, there is no option for a non-delivery notification to be generated back to an application.

As an alternative, you could request a delivery notification, and assume that if no delivery notification is received within a timeout, that the message was not delivered.

Also, as I don't know much about your setup, there are configuration options where if an MMS message is not retrieved within a timeout period, NowSMS can automatically convert the message to a web link and send an SMS message to the recipient to tell them that they can retrieve the content via the web. (For more information, see the description of the "UndeliverableRouteToSMS" setting in the following link: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/17220.html)

Thanks for the response Bryce, i had a feeling this might be the case. I'll look into your suggestions for our solution.

Thanks again
