Hi ! I need to evaluate NowSMS's possibilty to send(and maybe recieve) MMS's over a Mobile connected to the PC via USB. I tested it with a Nec e606 and get the message that this doesn't support SMS. 2 Questions: 1) Is it possible to send a MMS from the PC via Mobile (as Modem on USB) direct to another Mobile, without the need for the PC to connect to a Mobile Operator's Gateway/MMSC ? ( like it's possible for Mobile A to send a MMS to Mobile B) i read much docs on NowSMS already, but that is not clear to me ;-) 2) Which Mobile's modememulations are compatible and capable of the procedure in 1) when using NowSMS thanks for your time Josef

I use Siemens MC35 with great success. All the different services in nowsms works perfectly with this modem and is very stable.

But that's not a mobilephone but a modem, which i will strongly recommend you to use.

Joe, The following thread is a good primer for how MMS works: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/589.html Basically, you can either send an MMS going through the operator MMSC. Or you can perform direct delivery by sending an MMS notification to the recipient over SMS ... however, the MMS configurations deployed by many mobile operators effectively blocks this latter approach (details in the referenced link above). -bn |
