I was using amazing phone as modem to send MMS and use sniffer to check the packet flow, whenever the message was about to finish sending, I received an error "403 - forbidden" instead of the m-send-conf. I don't have the problems with N7650 or SE P800. How can I troubleshoot, I am using nowsms 5.0 SP 1. thanks

Hi eisho,

I guess the question mark would be whether the 403 error is coming from NowSMS, or coming from an intermediate proxy or gateway.

I'm not aware of any situations where the NowSMS MMSC generates a 403 error code for an MM1 connection.

I'd suggest enabling the debug log in the NowSMS MMSC. You can do this by manually editing MMSC.INI, and under the [MMSC] section header, add Debug=Yes. Then restart the MMSC service.

When the phone attempts to send an MMS message, does anything appear in the MMSCDEBUG.LOG? If yes, then post the details here (upload attachment works best). If no, then the request is not getting that far, and it is a proxy or gateway that is returning the 403 error, and you'd have to then troubleshoot at the proxy or gateway.

yes, it is the WAP gateway returning the error: WSP Reply: "0x43 403 Forbidden" after all the m-send-req and of course the sending failed.

If I sent the MMS with Smart amazing phone alone then it was successful. Therefore I have such question. If you know something pls share. Otherwise I will turn on the debug and hope to catch some useful info. thanks anyway.

Eisho,

Turn on the debug, and let's see if the request is making it as far as the MMSC.

We'll be able to see from the MMSCDEBUG.LOG if any request is forwarded by the WAP gateway, or if the WAP gateway is issuing the "Forbidden" without even forwarding the request to the MMSC.

That will determine how to best troubleshoot the problem.
