Is it possible to send a MMS and hide the sender (ie. modem connected to nowsms server)? | |||

It depends. If you are sending an MMS message via an operator MMSC using MM1 over a GPRS modem ... the answer is No. This is similar to when you are sending an SMS via a GSM modem, where it is not possible to override the sender address, as the mobile operator will always insert the phone number associated with the SIM that sent the message. (Side note: When sending an MMS message, there is a flag that can be set to request that the sender address be hidden. I did a few tests with this flag set and the flag was either ignored, or the message was not accepted by the MMSC but never delivered, or the MMSC refused to accept the message because it did not support this capability. In practice, I would not expect operators to support this capability.) If you are acting as a direct delivery MMSC, then the answer is Yes. Just leave the From: field blank when you submit the message. -bn |
