Hi,

We did a swap from Ericsson MMSC to Now one, but we had some trouble with MM7 integration. We applied a patch in order to solve some MM7 ununderstanding between Service provider ( blog ) and our mms.
The link of our exchange was http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/19792.html

For a trouble with the behaviour of routing message for a destination , that is short number , that is not in the mmsc routing. That follow the discussions board ( http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/22337.html )
Our supplier recommend to upgrade to now SMS 2007. But i asking me if modification you did in the patch will be keep ? are the change only for non-standard MM7 variations ( Ericsson )?

Another thing , it is that we want to open new service base on MM7 interface. Due to the patch , is the specification found on your web site are OK and if not , could you send me the change you did , in order i could send to customer the good xml/http command.

Marc

Hi Marc,

I've exchanged e-mails with Bruno regarding this while I was on holiday.

I can confirm that the changes that we made to the Ericsson MM7 implementation were rolled into the standard release.

If I remember correctly, our implementation of the Ericsson MM7 protocol only supported the "VASP to MMSC" MultiMediaSubmit format ... but we then added compatibility with the "MMSC to VASP" MultiMediaDeliver format, which is what a VASP would expect to see when it receives messages from the MMSC.

Normally when you define an MM7 Routing in the MMSC you can specify whether the direction of the connection is "To VASP" or "To MMSC" ... we just didn't have that support for the Ericsson variation of MM7 until it was added in January 2007.
