Hello,

I have a little project going on at work, to configure a server to send (and possibly later to receive) SMS and MMS messages. We currently have a Windows server, with Twist USB GSM Modem and decided to use NowSMS. The SMSC seems to work perfectly with this configuration, but I have some problems with MMS.

I tried configuring the built-in MMSC, but couldn't get it to work properly. I tested by creating and sending an MMS message through the web interface, with little success. I can access the messages with a web browser, but my phone gets nothing. The logfile says OK, so I figured that my service provider prevents access to third party MMSCs. Any other ideas?

I tried configuring an Operator MMSC to NowSMS with settings provided at http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/491.html (My operator is TeliaSonera Finland and I'm assuming that info is correct), but when I test the connection the "test in progress" popup just flashes quickly and then it says "connection failed". I have no idea if there is a GPRS data service enabled on the GSM Modem (the device supports it, but maybe the operator hasn't enabled it on the account)? Could that be the cause? If not, any other ideas?

Hi,

If you are unsure if GPRS is enabled for the SIM, it is possible that MMS is not enabled for the SIM either.

My advice, as a sanity check, would be to put the SIM into a mobile phone, and confirm that the phone can send an MMS using the SIM.

You should be able to use the "Lookup Operator Settings" button in NowSMS to get the TeliaSonera Finland settings. They do look like the settings mentioned in that thread ...

Try putting the SIM into a phone to try sending MMS as a first step.
