We have NowSms working with a gprs connection sony-ericsson v800) under the french operator SFR.
The modem is attached into a laptop. The laptop has a public ip address.
I have one mobile phone (sony-ericsson f500i acting as a sender) and another mobile phone (samsung zv30 acting
as receiver). Our parameters are working properly for sending a mms message from the sony ericsson f500i to
the samsung zv30. The sender, sends the message through the internet where the nowSms application (inside a laptop
with a public ip) receives it. Then with the vasp configuration of nowSms, it sends the mms through the modem to SFR
(MMS CENTRE OF SFR) and it delivers the message to the destinatary.

This is the global vision of the configuration. We tryied to configure the receiver to receive the same mms from the
internet (from nowSms. NowSms as an MMSC), but you said to us that it maybe wasn't allowed by the operator network, or by the terminal.
In fact we didn't get results in that way.
Finally we decided routing the message through the vasp configuration to SFR.

The problem that we have now is that we need to have the same internal configuration in the sender and the receiver phones (for analyze data), Is it
possible?. And another question, I tryied without any possitive result to configure the samsung zv30 as the sender and the
f500i as the receiver, but I don't never find the correct configuration for the samsung, it never arrives to send the mms to
the gateway. I always see an error sending the mms from the samsung.

Can you help us, please?

I'm having trouble following the configuration.

But, I can say that if you change the configuration settings on the mobile phone, then it is possible to use the MMSC as an MMSC for direct MMS message delivery. The only requirement is that the mobile phone must be able to use the configured APN to establish an IP connection that allows access to the IP address of the MMSC.

My other advice was about general purpose MMS sending, where it is not practical (or recommended) to be changing the MMS settings on the recipient mobile phone.

Generally speaking, the following settings can be configured on the mobile phone for the MMS profile:

GPRS APN
Username and password for APN
Proxy IP and port
MMSC Server URL

Some phones will allow you to NOT define a proxy server IP and port ... others require it, so that could be an issue that trips you up.

My advice would be to enable the MMSCDEBUG.LOG so that you can see what HTTP requests are making it as far as the MMSC. It sounds like you are fighting a settings issue on the Samsung phone, and that maybe the settings are not configured as you expect. By looking at the MMSCDEBUG.LOG, you can at least see if the request is making it as far as the MMSC.
