I'm trying to send an MMS via GPRS modem.
I would like to send it trought MM1, a Nokia e65 GPRS modem and a Vodafone Italy SIM.

When I try to test the connectivity of my modem in MMS outbound routing form, nowSMS tells me:

"NowSMS has updated your modem driver settings to enable GPRS connectivity, reboot the PC".
If I reboot and test again, i have the same exact problem whit NowSMS that tells me to reebot again, if i don't reboot i receive the message alert:
"Unable to connect to WAP gateway".

Obivously, in this situation, i'm not able to send any MMS from the web interface.

Can you help me?

Thanks

Hi,

What version of Windows are you running?

The problem is that the Windows modem driver for that device has an INIT string that includes "AT&F", which tells the modem to return to its factory settings.

With some modems, this command clears the setting for the preferred GPRS APN.

NowSMS includes some logic to repair the Windows modem driver ... but apparently that is not working for you.

There is a work-around ...

Go into the "Phone & Modem Options" area of the Windows Control Panel.

Select the "Modems" page.

Highlight the modem that you will be using, and select "Properties".

Select the "Advanced" page of the properties dialog.

In the "Extra Initialization commands" field, you need to define the name of the GPRS APN that is used for sending/receiving MMS messages. This command takes the format: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","GPRS.APN".

(In your case, I believe this would be: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","mms.vodafone.it")

This will initialize the modem to connect to the proper GPRS APN. Select "OK" to save this setting.
