Hello,
I've succesfully integrated nowSMS into our test platform, and can received and send MMS messages. We are using an Anritsu md8470A, which has an "SMS Center" app that acts as the SMS service.
My question is, I would like to have NowSMS process the MMS messages, and save the content on the local drive. It appears this option is available, and I have checked the options in the 2-way tab, but none of the messages originated by either the UE or nowSMS seems to processed and deposited in the "MMS directory" location. What is the steps to make this work?

Thank you for any help

It's a little confusing, but basically in that type of setup, there's no way to address a message to the 2-way command process logic.

What you could do is define an "MMSC VASP" account. Let's give it an account name and password of "test".

For the message routing, specify that messages should be received to the MMS-IN directory.

On the user-agent, change the MMS server URL to be http://mmsc:port/mm1/test=test

The "mm1" prefix indicates that we are connecting as a VASP via the MM1 protocol, instead of using a user account.

Any messages submitted in this manner will be dumped into the MMS-IN directory.

Hi,

That doesn't sound like a similar issue (at least not from a technical perspective).

Are you saying that you changed the phone that you are using a GSM modem to a different model Nokia phone?

If so, the GSM modem implemenation in most Nokia mobile phones introduced over the past 2-1/2 years no longer includes support for receiving SMS messages over the GSM modem interface. The GSM modem implementation in those phones simply returns errors to indicate that the functionality is not supported.

Additionally, Nokia has not supported receiving SMS messages via the GSM modem interface in any of their Series 60 (a.k.a., S60 or Symbian) phones. They are send only as far as the GSM modem interface goes.

From your brief description, this sounds like what you are experiencing.

If this does not describe the situation, then you may want to try different settings for the "SMS Message Storage" option. With some modems, NowSMS cannot automatically detect the best way to interface with the device. In those cases, the "Direct to Modem" option generally works best with dedicated GSM modem devices (by "dedicated" I mean GSM modems that are sold as modems, and not as phones with some modem capability).
