Hi, I'm using NowSMS 2006 to receive small videos via MMS using a Siemens MC35 modem. The settings appear to be correct as I have successfully received and processed some MMS messages containing videos, however I'm finding that some MMS messages are not being received (i.e. not appearing in MMS-IN for me to process). After turning on debugging and looking in MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG it appears that NowSMS receives the SMS but when it attempts to download the video it receives an HTTP 403 Forbidden response. As an example a colleague sent two videos to the MC35, one 43KB the other 284KB, the larger one could not be received by NowSMS due to the 403 error mentioned above. However he then sent the same two videos to me and I was able to receive them OK on my HTC Touch Dual. All 3 of the SIMs involved are Orange UK so should have the same file size limits imposed. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here? I've attached the MMSWAPDEBUG log file in case that helps. Thanks in advance, Colin

Hi, I know this is an old message, but I'm cleaning up the discussion board because Bryce has been too overworked this summer. So I'm mainly responding for others who search and find this message. It is likely that the WAP gateway of the mobile operator has size restrictions. The WAP 1.x protocol does not do very well when you get above approximately 250KB. The resolution should be to configure NowSMS to use WAP2/HTTP instead. To do this, in the "WAP Gateway IP Address" field, specify "http:ip.address:port" instead of just "ip.address". In this case, try changing it to "http:192.168.224.10:8080". -- Des NowSMS Support | ||||
