Hi, I'm using Now SMS/MMS as MMS-C and with an external PPG. In MMSC menu I enable the "Retry MMS Delivery Notification" and I set Attempts = 3 and Delay = 3. When I disconnect the PPG to simulate a problem of notification, I saw in MMSCDEBUG.LOG that MMS-C try to notify MMS all 26 seconds and retry until it succeed to deliver the notification to PPG. MMSCDEBUG.LOG shows "DeliverWAPushViaPAP: http://x.x.x.x:5080/PGW" all 26 seconds. Is it a bad test or this "functionality" doesn't work? BR / Clément | |||

Hi, That retry parameter applies to MMS notifications sent via WAP Push over SMS (which is the normal configuration). There is a separate queue for MMS notifications that are being routed via a separate push proxy gateway. In that configuration, if the PPG is down or not responding, notifications are reprocessed at a fixed interval. If this is causing an operational problem, we could look at adjusting the behaviour of this queue. In practice, this particular configuration is rarely used, so we have not seen any need to adjust this behaviour. -- Des NowSMS Support |
