Purpose: My GSM-operator allow me to send several thouthands of MMS for free, so I want to send to my 4 000 customers one same MMS message.

1) Is it possible to send MMS without sending SMS?
My GSM-operator allow me te send unlimited MMS, but SMS is still cost me money. When I send MMS using phone - all is ok, only MMS sent and no fees applied to my account. But when I use NOW.SMS gateway with my mobile, it sends one MMS and one SMS(and GSM operator charge my account). Why it so? Is it possible to configure NOW.SMS to send only MMS without SMS? If yes, please refer me to the DOC.

2) do you have in NOW.SMS ready tool, which allow export mobile numbers and then run bulk message sending?

PPS: I understand that I have to not use now.sms as MMSC... But how could I set-up sms.now to use second configuration, where MMSC is on the side of my GSM-operator?

Add the modem to the NowSMS SMSC list.

Once it is added, highlight the modem in that list, and press "Properties".

UNcheck the setting "Support any outbound message traffic". By doing this, you are telling NowSMS not to use this modem for outbound SMS traffic. (If you mistakenly try, NowSMS will simply put the message into an error queue with no valid outbound route.)

Next, you want to configure NowSMS to send outbound MMS messages via the modem, using the operator MMSC.

For some background information on this, please see "How MMS Works" at http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm. There's a lot of techie info that you may or may not be interested in there. But the relevant bit is that you want to configure NowSMS to send messages through the operator MMSC over a GPRS modem, and that page links to this one, which has more information on the configuration:

http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm

In short, you want to go to the "MMSC Routing" page of the NowSMS configuration ... add a route ... the type is "MM1". Then once you have that configured, back on the "MMSC Routing" page, you make this the "Default Outbound Route".

For more description of what needs to be configured, see the section of the above referenced link which is titled "Connecting to an Operator MMSC – Sending MMS Messages".

Regarding mobile numbers and distribution lists, you can upload a list of numbers very easily via the NowSMS web browser interface. But if you need more techie details on creating/manipulating these files via an external program, see http://blog.nowsms.com/2007/06/editing-distribution-lists-and-address.html
