My internet connection requires proxy setting. When a mms is sent from actual cell phone to nowMMS(connected to GSM/GPRS modem with SIM), it tries to download it through the link in sms notification, but couldn't access internet as it doesn't have proxy settings. Is there a way to specify them? My scenario: [Actual Cell Phone] ---MMS--->> [NowMMS( connected to GPRS modem with GSM card ...seirra wireless USB connect from AT&T )] I am attaching logs too. Thanks

Hi, The default configuration for NowSMS is to act as a direct delivery MMSC. That won't work with most mobile operators ... and it definitely WILL NOT work if your NowSMS MMSC is not directly accesible over the internet. It is necessary to configure NowSMS to route MMS messages via the operator MMSC with the modem. For more background information on how MMS works, see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm. The following link has more information about configuring NowSMS to route MMS messages via the operator MMSC with a modem: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm Basically, you need to define an "MMSC Routing" connection that routes via MM1 using the modem. Then, you establish that route as your "Default Route" on the "MMSC Routing" page. -bn | ||||

I see in another thread (http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/24493.html) that you have already configured an "MMSC Routing" connection to use the modem for sending the outbound message. So I guess I don't understand what you are asking here. After reading both threads, and looking at the log file ... I might understand what you are asking. You want to send an MMS from a phone (with no special setup on the phone), to the modem, and have the message be received and processed by NowSMS. What you need to do ... is just like in the other thread where you defined the outbound MMS settings, you need to define the inbound MMS settings (proxy/APN/MMSC URL). To configure the inbound settings, go to the "SMSC list. Select your modem and press "Properties". Check "Receive MMS Messages", and press the "MMS Settings" button. These "MMS Settings" should be the same as what you have already defined under "MMSC Routing" for sending outbound MMS messages via the modem. -bn |
