Hi there, we are currently evaluating NowSMS/MMS and trying to start a virtual mmsc. We have the problem that the mmsc service does not start due to the error "unable to allocate web service on port 80". Any ideas how to fix the problem? tia, Rene Glembotzky | |||

Hi Rene, This means that there is another service installed on the PC which is listening to port 80. Most likely there is a web server (such as IIS) installed on the PC. You need to either disable the other web server, or choose a different port for the NowSMS MMSC, such as port 8080. (Do note that some operator WAP gateways do not allow connections to ports other than 80, however, so using port 80 is the most desirable setting.) -bn | |||
