Hi there,

we are currently evaluating NowSMS/MMS and trying to start a virtual mmsc. We have the problem that the mmsc service does not start due to the error "unable to allocate web service on port 80".

Any ideas how to fix the problem?

*lol* I found the problem - it was just a deeper look into documentation away...

For al others who have the same problem - take a look into "Using port 80 on a pc running iis".

Hi Rene,

This means that there is another service installed on the PC which is listening to port 80.

Most likely there is a web server (such as IIS) installed on the PC.

You need to either disable the other web server, or choose a different port for the NowSMS MMSC, such as port 8080. (Do note that some operator WAP gateways do not allow connections to ports other than 80, however, so using port 80 is the most desirable setting.)

Glad you found the problem. I'm working on a time delay today ...
