Hi...

I found the “Delivering MMS Notifications with WAP Push over IP” to the manual.
So I configure IPNotify in the MMSC.INI.
This is configuration for the MMSC.INI

[MMSC]
WebPort=80
SMTPPort=25
RelayHost=125.141.31.137
HostName=125.141.31.137
DomainName=125.141.31.137
AdminUser=
AdminPassword=
SMTPRequireAuth=No
EnableDeliveryNotification=Yes
ConvertImages=No
ConvertEMailWAVAMR=Yes
ConvertEMailBMPJPG=Yes
ConvertScaleToScreen=No
SMSEMail=No
SMSDomainName=
SMSPerEMail=1
Debug=Yes
IPAddress=125.141.31.137
POP3Port=110
IPNotify=+821022116147=203.229.248.201

After I configure the IPNotify, I send MMS Notification.
But I can’t receive the message.
When I check the Q folder, the message is not sent.
In the Q folder, Error message(that I sent) is stored
What’s wrong?
Do I mistake the IPNotify setting?
If I mistake the IPNotify setting, please let me know method of configuration

Also I have some question.
1. Are “Delivering MMS Notifications with WAP Push over IP” and "IP PUSH" different?
2.Can I send the “IP Push” message through the Now sms?
If I can send “IP Push message”through the Now sms, please let me know the way to set.

Hi Johnny,

This is how the configuration should be:

[IPNotify]
+821022116147=203.229.248.201

There are two different protocols for WAP Push over IP.

With the configuration parameter above, NowSMS uses connection-less WAP Push over UDP/IP (port 2948).

There is another way to do WAP Push over IP, using TCP instead of UDP, which NowSMS does not natively support. I believe the other protocol is known as PO-TCP. If you needed to send using this format, NowSMS does have the capability to send push messages via a separate PPG, and the PPG would handle that protocol.

Thank you for your support. I configure the [IPNotify] in the MMSC.INI.
And then at the "Send MMS Notification", I enter the IP instead of the phone number in the Phone Number field. In the MMS URL field, I don't enter the mms url. Because I don't konw what to enter.
After entering the field, I click the submit button. But MMS Notification is not sent.
How can I send the MMS Notification using the IP instead of the Phone Number?
And let me konw what to enter the MMS URL.

Thank you

Hi Johnny,

Is your colleague posting over in the following thread?

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/25170.html

The questions there seem to be similar.

Are you working in a lab that is testing phones?

Entering an IP address instead of a phone number was an early ways that we allowed testers to be able to test WAP push over IP.

Only the "Send WAP Push" and "Send MMS Notification" web forms support this.

If you do not understand the MMS URL parameter, then you should not use "Send MMS Notification". I do not say this to be mean. I say this because if you do not understand, then you should use "Send MMS Message" and the IPNotify setting discussed above instead.

When you use the IPNotify setting, if you "Send MMS Message" to a phone number listed under "[IPNotify]", then NowSMS will try to send the MMS message to the IP address instead.

I would strongly recommend that you read http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm. This link will explain more about how MMS works.

The only difference when using IPNotify is that instead of WAP Push over SMS ... WAP Push over IP is used.

Note that WAP Push over IP is only practical to use in a closed testing environment.

To use WAP Push over IP, the NowSMS Server has to have a clear TCP/IP path so that it can send a UDP packet to port 2948 at the receiving IP address.

Any NAT routers or firewalls in between can easily block this.

I work Testbed.

In the MMS Notification, I sent the MMS Notification. when I send the mms notification, I enter the phone number in the phone number field and I don't enter the value in the MMS URL.
At this time mms notification is sent to the my phone.
But When I send the mms notification using the IP instead of phone number and I don't enter mms url field value, mms notification is not sent.

What is the different?

It is likely that you do NOT have full IP connectivity.

In another thread, you talk about your phone connecting to Hutchinson for packet switched service.

How many firewalls and/or NAT routers exist in the TCP/IP path between NowSMS and the phone? (The likely answer is more than one, and it only takes one to block the WAP push over IP.)
