Another problem :
If we use the internal mmsc we get the error message "The requested page could not be displayed" during the download process on different Nokia (eg 6600, 3510i), Sharp and Samsung handsets - anybody an idea what goes wrong?

Hi Rene,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.

My first suggestion would be to go to the "MMSC" page of the NowSMS config, and uncheck "Enable Dynamic Audio + Image Conversion".

If changing that setting makes a difference, then I'll explain what is wrong.

If that doesn't make a difference, then my next suggestion would be to use "Send MMS Notification" from the NowSMS web interface. Enter an e-mail address in the "From:" field, and for the "MMS URL", specify http://www.nowsms.com/download/btmms.mms.

Does that work?

If that works, then it suggests that the "Local Host Name or IP Address" on the "MMSC" page of the NowSMS configuration is incorrect. In which case, see this thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/1958.html

If that message is not received, and NowSMS did not report any error, then this suggests that your operator's MMS network is closed to external MMSCs. That means that you cannot send MMS messages using direct MMS delivery with the settings that are pre-configured for MMS on the mobile phones by your operator. Your only alternatives are then:

1.) Change MMS settings on the phones. (Usually only a good option for a smaller, controlled group of users with special needs.)

2.) Configure NowSMS to send MMS messages through the operator MMSC over GPRS. (More info at http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm)

3.) Use Send WAP Multimedia Message as an alternative, where the multimedia objects are delivered to the WAP browser instead of the MMS client.

The following thread has more information on this issue:
