I want to be able to receive MMS messages via Orange using the Now Gateway via a GSM Phone or Card. Can anyone recommend a Phone or Card please?

Is anyone out there using the Orange Mobile Office Card?

Is that the best choice for a desktop machine?

I have asked a very simular question on the technical board, but I am looking for a card that can hold multiple SIM cards, Any suggestions anyone?

Cheers,

From what I can gather so far, most devices will work for receiving sms, mms is a different kettle of fish entirely. For receiving MMS I've been using a sierra wireless aircard 750 which has worked reasonably well

Trevor,

I'm not aware of any cards that can handle multiple SIMs. For multiple lines, you probably need to use externals.

The only downside to externals is that they require mode switching between SMS and GPRS modes. Most internal cards have the same problem, because they don't have very sophisticated drivers ... the one exception is the Sierra Aircard 750 (which can be a little challenging to setup, but offers the best throughput).

The mode switching issue is described in more detail here:

Kevin,

Read about the mode switching issue in the response above this one. That's the only reason that I'd consider an internal card modem over an external modem. But I've never tried installing the Sierra Aircard 750 in a desktop, so I don't know how involved that would be.

I don't think the Orange Mobile Office Card offers the same driver benefit as the Sierra Aircard 750, so it would probably be the same as using an external modem like the Siemens MC35.

From what I've been able to tell elsewhere on the web, the Orange Mobile Office Card is actually a SonyEricsson GC75 according to multiple Orange reseller web sites. We've found that some software that ships with the GC75 causes problems for sending messages (receiving ok). One user told us that their solution was to download the GC75 Manager from the support site, and use that instead of the whole communications suite.
