I've recently downloaded the software and am evaluating it. I'm trying to send a barcode image out either via EMS or MMS. When I send as EMS, all phones receive a message that is unreadable (or message format not supported). When I send as MMS, it appears to leave the queue on the server, but nothing is received on the destination phone. Any ideas what I'm missing? I'm using Nokia N95 as the modem, and it sends text SMS's fine. I'm on network O2 in the UK. Please advise what other information you need to assist. Thanks | |||

Hi Ben, Sorry we missed this posting. (We use a separate queue for keeping track of what messages we need to reply to here, and we missed this one). You'll get the best results using the EMS functions in NowSMS, but select "Nokia Smart Messaging" as the output format. Basically, Nokia has a large market share, and their phones don't support EMS. Most other handset vendors support Nokia Smart Messaging. And you'll find that when Nokia Smart Messaging is supported, there are sizes that work on some phones and not on others. 72x28 seems to be a magic size that works best. However, you'll find that many of the "so-called" smart phones like BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and the iPhone don't support Nokia Smart Messaging. As a result, MMS tends to have more widespread support ... but it's more expensive. WAP push or SMS w/ web link are cheaper, but they assume your users have a data plan to be open up the link. -- Des NowSMS Support |
