Hello,
I tried to send 1000 MMS with nowsms and 4 modems. (with a call to : http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:81/MMSxyz...etc...&MMSFile=http://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy/mmsfile 1&MMSFile=http://yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy/mmsfile2 for each MMS)
Then, I get the following problems :
- I get all the lines MMSIN in the log (ok !)
- I get only 3 or 4 MMSOUT in the log
- the server stop responding (for half a day)
- after a reboot (next day), nowsms sends about 300 MMS (300 MMSOUT in the log the day after)

My questions are :
- what are the limitations for mass mms sending ?
- Where are the 700 waiting MMS ?
- Do you had some stability problems with nowsms under heavy load ?
- Where can I find more technicals informations about nowsms and MMS ?
and finally :
- do you have another solution than gprs modem to send MMS (international MM7 ?) when mobile operator are blocking their MMSC ?

Thanks

P.S. : Windows XP SP1 + all patches avalaible, 4 sim cards from a french operator.

Check to see if there is a subdirectory called VASPQ\ERROR.

If a message is queued for more than 24 hours, and there have been errors encountered in the send attempts, then the messages are moved to this directory. Unfortunately, this is not getting logged at present.

When you say that the server stopped responding, what exactly happened? Was the PC completely non-responsive? Or just NowSMS?

There is no subdirectory \ERROR in \VASPQ.
In fact :
Day 1 : submitting 1000 MMS, about 10 sent, then the PC was frozen (blue screen only, CTRL+ALD+DEL show the usual window but no response then). I was wondering if NowSMS was getting all the processor time so I wait. (no more MMSOUT in MMSLOG)
Day 2 : Reboot. About 300 MMS sent, then again the server stop responding.
Day 3 : Reboot. Some error messages about Win32GenericHost process (no more precisions, sorry). reboot again : about 700 MMS sent.

I have no more problems with nowsms (but quite no trafic), and I will try to send about 1000 MMS again in 2 days. I will tell you how it works.

Could you tell me where are recorded the MMS Queue ? (where are the 1000 MMS waiting to be sent ?)
And is there a way to call a script after each MMS sent ?

Thanks

Nicolas,

Without an "ERROR" subdirectory of "VASPQ", I wonder if perhaps you are running a version prior to v5.50?

We just added the "ERROR" subdirectory with v5.50. Basically, when an MMS message cannot be transmitted via a connection to an MMSC, the message gets moved from "VASPQ" to "VASPQ\ERROR". ("VASPQ\ERROR" is created the first time there is a problem transmitting a message.)

"VASPQ" is where the pending MMS messages are queued for transmission to an external MMSC.

Thee is no callback after an MMS is sent, but there is an "MMSOUT" record recorded in the MMSC-yyyymmdd.LOG file.
