Hi,

I've configured Now SMS/MMS as my MMSC, both gateway and my mobile phone are set correctly.
As I try to send MMS to other person, I found there are 2 SMS messages sent out from the gateway.
But, as I set back to my mobile operator's MMSC, and I use 2-way for sending out MMS, I found there is only 1 SMS message sent out from the gateway.
So, what is the difference with the above-mentioned, does it mean, if my company uses Now SMS/MMS as the MMSC, we will have to pay 2 SMS?! Or if there is any misconfiguration? How to shorten it to only 1 SMS?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Roland,

Out of curiosity, what is the mobile operator?

Normally, the MMS notifications that we have seen from operator MMSCs are always 2 SMS messages.

There are ways to tweak the notification in NowSMS to get it down to a single SMS. Please see the following discussion threads for this information:

Thanks Kent! I've shorten it to 1 sms according to the instruction now. But I also notice that, when I receive a MMS notification, it is like this:
To:139xxxxxxxx
From: VASP:v (I add only one vasp user as v)
how can I get the REAL sender's phone number?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Roland,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.

Basically, you need to define a "VASP Sender Address" in the "MMSC VASP" definition.

Or, you can include a sender address in your message submission. The "VASP:xxx" text only should get inserted if there was no sender specified in the message submission, and the "VASP Sender Address" field is blank in the configuration.
