Please don't reply to this thread. This thread is intended to document the bugs in the v5.0 BETA 1 release.

1.) On the service page, pressing "Start" for the "SMS Gateway Service" will result in an error message being displayed that indicates an Error 1056 starting the service. This error message can be ignored (the software is trying to start the service twice, and the second attempt is failing with this error, however the service is in fact started).

2.) Pre-compiled MMS message files cannot be submitted via the web interface if any "MMSC Routing" defintions are defined.

3.) SMS messages are not routed outbound when there are no preferred routes defined. You can work around the bug by doing the following:

On the "SMSC" page of the configuration dialog, highlight the modem definition, and press "Properties".

Enter "*" in the "Preferred SMSC Connection for", and press "Add". Press "OK", then "Apply". Restart the service, and it should then route the SMS messages outbound.

4.) The gateway is unable to make GPRS connections using dial-up networking when the GPRS connection requires a username and password.

5.) The gateway is unable to make a WAP connection to an operator WAP gateway that uses WAP redirect responses to load balance multiple gateways. (Observed on connections to O2 UK WAP Gateway.)

6.) Encoding problems with OMA settings. Inability to configure a PIN when sending settings, which is required by many devices.
