I understand these are basically just GPRS (and others) modems with some fancy GUI software for connection. However, I've been playing with the trial and although I can send/receive SMS messages, I cannot receive MMS messages. Whenever I try and set up the modem in the "MMS Settings", I either get a RAS 628 error, or an error saying that it cannot connect to the WAP proxy. I've tried this with both a BT dongle and a Vodafone dongle with similar results. I've googled around to try and find alternative WAP server IPs etc, but I get the same errors. | |||

Hi James, After you perform a connection attempt, there should be an MMSWAPDEBUG.LOG file that is generated (located in either Program Files\NowSMS or ProgramData\NowSMS). Can you post this so that I can better understand what settings you are using. One thing I'd suggest is putting the SIM card that you are using in the modem into a phone and verify that you can send/receive MMS with the SIM card in a phone. Often, if you purchase a SIM card with the modem, the SIM card has not been provisioned for MMS access by the operator. So it's a good idea to confirm that you can actually getting MMS working in a phone with that SIM. You can also try moving a SIM from a phone which you know can send/receive MMS and put that SIM into the modem. -- Des NowSMS Support |
