Hi Bryce I know that an outbound route can be selected by the prefix of the recipient's MSISDN but this is not a reliable way if we want to choose a different route depending on operator - especially with the proliferation of number porting. Therefore, is there any way of specifying the outbound route in the HTTP request to NowSMS so that, for example, we can programatically decide whether to send an MMS through a GPRS modem using MM1, or an MMS Notification using HTTP via our SMS connection? Just as an aside, do you have an updated manual for v5.5 anywhere on this site - the one that was installed seemed to be still for v5.0 and doesn't document any of the new features? Cheers Matt | |||

Hi Matt, I know we already discussed this issue via e-mail, but I wanted to post this information for others with the same question. Right now, there is a somewhat confusing way of specifying the route when you submit a message. Each MMSC Routing definition can have a "Default Sender Address" associated with it. (For GSM/GPRS modems, make sure this is set to the phone number of the modem in international format.) If you submit an MMS message and indicate as the sender address a value that matches this setting in one of the modems, then the message will be routed only via that particular modem. -bn |
