Aside from the web sites of the operator, I don't have any suggestions.

Are you attempting to use NowSMS to send the MMS, or is this a general question?

If you are attempting to use NowSMS, then normally you can find the settings that you need by inspecting the configuration on a working phone. (By working phone, I mean a phone that is able to at least send MMS to itself.)

Yes, i'm trying to send SMS from NowSMS.

The problem with the settings is that the 1 operator use private IP's(tmn) and i can't connect or ping to Optimus Gateway
I've try to configure Direct Connect to their MMSC, but in the case of Optimus i get always the message that we can't connect

I'll put here the configurations for the phone for the 3 portuguese operators:

Vodafone:
APN: vas.vodafone.pt
User ID: vas
Password: not required
WAP Gateway IP: 213.30.27.63
Homepage(is MMS Server URL??): http://mms/servlets/mms

TMN:
APN: mmsc.tmn.pt
User ID: tmn
Password: tmnnet (not required)
WAP Gateway IP: 10.111.2.16
Homepage(is MMS Server URL??): http://mmsc

Optimus:
APN: mms
User ID: mms
Password: (not required)
WAP Gateway IP: 62.169.66.1
Homepage(is MMS Server URL??): http://mmsc:10021/mmsc

Can I use any of this configurations in NowSms?

Thanks

Hi Duarte,

It looks like you have all of the necessary information there.

You need to go into the "MMSC Routing" page in NowSMS, and add a route using MM1 over your GSM/GPRS modem. The route that you define must be for the operator whose SIM is being used in the modem.

The basic configuration is outlined at the following link:

http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/mms_notifications_and_c ontent/Connecting_to_operator_MMSC.htm#SendingMMSMessages

Based upon the information above, for Optimus, you would configure the following:

You will define an account under the "MMSC Routing" page, and then make that the default route.

"Account name" and "Account Description" can be set to any value as they are used only internally by NowSMS.

"Default Sender Address" should be left blank.

"Allow sender address override" should NOT be checked.

"Route messages to this account ..." can be left blank (as long as you make this the default route).

"Route messages to VASP via" should be "MM1".

"Server Address" should be "mmsc:10021/mmsc".

"Login Name" and "Password" should be blank.

"Use specific Network connection (GPRS Modem)" should be checked.

"Network Connection" should be set to "Modem: name of your modem driver".

"WAP Gateway IP Address" should be "62.169.66.1".

"Modem Used" should be "name of your modem driver".

"GPRS APN" should be "mms".

"Login Name" would be set to "mms", and "Password" would be blank.

Press "Test Connection" to test your settings. (Note: This test only verifies that the GPRS APN and WAP Gateway IP address settings are accessible. It does not test the MMS Server URL setting which can only be tested by actually sending a message.)

What happens when you try those settings?

Duarte,

The only way that you can submit a message through the operator MMSC is to connect to the operator MMSC over a GPRS modem (or to have a VASP account with the operator for connecting to the operator directly, which these operators may or may not support).

If you are sending messages through an SMS service provider, you can only send MMS messages through that provider if the recipient networks are open to external MMSCs.

See the following for a description of how MMS works:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/589.html

Basically, MMS uses a combination of SMS and WAP technologies, but the pre-configured MMS settings that many operators establish on their mobile phones prevent the phones from being able to receive MMS messages from an MMSC other than the operator's.

As an alternative, you might want to look at the Multimedia WAP Push function in NowSMS. If your content does not have to be in pure MMS format, this is often a good alternative.
