I have connected my T68i to the V5 beta nowsms gateway. MM1 related Connectivity looks good. It was able to test connection to my T-Mobile network.

When I submit a MMS message from web interface (with a single jpeg image of about 3kb), message is successfully submitted. I receive an indication on my T68i that I have an MMS with the correct subject line. When I try to see the details, I get "downloading..." message and phone gives me a network or communication error.

Is this because sending to the same phone that is acting as a GPRS modem is not allowed? or am I missing some configuration? Gateway is running on my internal network and not exposed to Internet. I hope that is not a requirement to test.

Another point I noticed was that Modem connection on windows 2000 system tray came up when I tested the connection. Between the time I submitted the MMS on the web and time I got the indication, I didnot see this icon appear in system tray.

Hi Vinayak,

It sounds like you might be sending the MMS message directly (using NowSMS as the MMSC), instead of having the message routed via MM1 over the GPRS modem interface.

It sounds like you have defined and tested the MM1 connection under "MMSC Routing", which is good.

In this routing definition, assuming that you want all MMS messages to be sent out through this connection, make sure that you specify "*" for "Route messages to this account for recipient phone number(s)". (In the release version, it will be sufficient to select this as the "Default Route", but there is a bug in current beta releases where the default route is not consistently applied, and entering "*" in the routing definition itself will overcome the bug.)

If you've done that, but are still having problems, make sure that your phone number is not defined in the "MMSC Users" page of the dialog. Any phone numbers listed on this page will always receive direct MMS delivery.

If the problem persists after making those adjustments, then lets try to take a closer look at what is occurring.

When you submit an MMS message, does the gateway record entries in the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG file? If so, then it is still trying to perform direct MMS delivery. I'd probably want to see your SMSGW.INI and MMSC.INI files to better understand. (If you don't feel comfortable posting them here, e-mail them to nowsms@now.co.uk.)
