Hello!
In discuss board you wrote:
"That is a bug.

When you define an MMSC VASP, and configure NowSMS to receive any messages
submitted by that VASP by writing files to the MMS-IN directory, NowSMS is
not performing any pre-processing against the message.

MM1 clients generally do not include a sender address (just the
"insert-address-token" parameter).

The v5.50 release version will include a fix for this problem, and apply the
"VASP Sender Address" parameter defined for the VASP so that this address
appears as the "From:" address when the message file is written to the
"MMS-IN" directory.

If you need a quick solution to this problem, I can send you an interim
update. Send an e-mail to nowsms@now.co.uk and reference this problem. "

That's the bug with MM7 protocol too. Then I'm configuring MMSRouting to
localhost VASP, the message transfers, but in the header file no "From"
address. If I'm using MM1 protocol, then there really "insert-address-token"
"from" address. If I'm using MM7 protocol, then there at all no "From"
field!
I'm using v5.51 (b20040823).
And there is one thing that may consisits with this problem. When I'm
configuring VASP account, I can't uncheck "Allow Sender Address Override"
field. Then I'm uncheck it, click OK and run settings agan, the checkbox is
checked agan! If I'm typing any string to "VASP Sender Address" field, this
checkbox can be uchecked. But then I put any string to "VASP Sender Address"
field, checked or unchecked "Allow Sender Address Override" checkbox, but in
the header file in MMS-IN directory in "From" field will be this string.
That's terrible bug because it stopped work on our project. We are alrady
tolking to mobile operator about providing MMS services, so you see that we
are so interested in your product. Please help us solve that problem as fast
as possible, because we don't have much time now! We were not ready to any
great bugs like this in your program.

Hi, Mikhail,

My name is Liu Yanxiang.
I am also using this NowSMS gateway, however I cannot receive anything in the MMS-IN dir.

I used a Wavecom Fastrack GSM/GPRS modem, and the VASP I used is Singtel (one of the service operators in Singapore). The settings should be no problem.

May I know what service operator you are using? And what's the settings? Does these settings different for different modems?

You really can receive an MMS sent from the mobile phone to the MMS-IN dir?
Can you send me a sample of the whole received MMS? I am already frustrated for this receiving part.

I appreciate your help. Really thank you a lot.
If possible, please reply as soon as possible. My email address is 147918154@ntu.edu.sg

Regards,
Yanxiang

Many tryes and I have fond how to solve that problem.
If you want to see real "From" field in your MMS header, you should check in MMSRouting "Allow Sender Address Override" and don't enter anything in "Default Sender Address" field.
In VASP setting this options should be the same.

To Liu Yanxiang.
I'm using direct connection to operators MMSC. The connection settings is secret, because our company use it on contract with operator.
We still developing our system and now I can't help you because have the same experience.

Mikhail,
Thanks a lot for your reply. What do you mean by direct connection to operators MMSC? Say if I just use the same settings as for a mobile phone, can the gateway also receive MMS messages?

I think my problem is the modem seems receive a blank SMS notification. May I know what type of modem you use? And What should an incoming SMS notification looks like? (Since the gateway should look at the notification, and then retrieve the MMS)
Is there any successful cases of someone using the Singapore service operator with NowSMS gateway, and be able to receive MMS in the MMS-IN dir?

Really thanks a lot. That's very kind of you to spend some time answering my questions.
Regards,
Yanxiang

Liu Yanxiang,
We don't use any modems. NOWSMS connects to operator's MMSC using MM7 protocol via internet. Just users can't do this. It's "corporate" connection.
Our company do not work in Singapore, so I don't know anythink about it. I don't have experience of working with modems and I think that you should contact with Bryce Norwood, he supports NOWSMS product. He'll answers your questions on this forum or via e-mail: NowSMS@now.co.uk
I think that now he is on leave, because I havn't seen his answers alrady about a week.
