Ok here is my setup:

1) HTTP connection to send messages (not sending through GPRS)
2) Can send SMS ok through Clickatell account
3) Have setup the basic MMSC gateway (service is running with no conflicts - SMTP not setup and not required). All I have done here apart from the default settings is activate the MMSC service on the MMSC tab, chosen 'use all available IP addresses' and in the next field I have put my local IP address (no firewall).

When I try to send an MMS, the credits are debited from my Clickatell account so I know the data is going out. My mobile (Nokia 3100/3120) is setup for MMS with Optus Australia. It looks like the MMS is not getting to the phone because the phone is expecting to hear from the Optus MMSC. As I am not routing through the Optus MMSC (no GPRS modem attached to computer) it looks like I have to delete the Optus MMS settings and put in settings that look for the local MMSC on my computer.

So, what would I need to enter on the Nokia under the MMS 'Homepage' field (e.g. vodafone NZ is http://pxt.vodafone.net.nz/pxtsend). Does this need to refer to my computer's IP address? It doesn't matter if the Optus settings are permanently deleted as I don't use MMS a lot.

Thanks for your help,

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

If you want to change the MMS settings on your mobile phone to point to your own NowSMS server, then you should define an account under the "MMSC Users" dialog. (Define at least two accounts there, as we occasionally hear of problems when there is only one account defined.)

Then, configure the MMSC Server URL on the phone to be http://server:port/username=password, where "server" is the IP address or host name for connecting to the PC running NowSMS. And "port" is the HTTP Port configured for the "MMSC".

The following has some good step by step tips for this type of configuration:
