Hi Bishu,

We do have quite a few customers that use our product in that type of configuration.

Basically the challenge that you have is that a real world MMS transaction uses the SMS bearer for delivering an MMS notification message to a device.

(For more background on how MMS works, see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm)

Simulating this SMS delivery process in a test lab can be challenging, depending on your equipment.

What we generally recommend is that you use the "HTTP SMSC" interface in NowSMS, so that each time we have an SMS to send, we make an HTTP request, and then you can have a script running on a web server somewhere in your configuration, which accepts the SMS details from the HTTP request and feeds them into your simulator.

Agilent's test kit has this type of capability, and we have quite a few customers using NowSMS with Agilent's kit. There are some more details about that in the following thread:

http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/5614.html

We also have customers using Anite's test kit, as well as others that have crafted an HTTP SMSC interface from NowSMS into their own test platforms. The following link explains this HTTP SMSC interface, which can be used to have NowSMS interface into a proprietary test equipment setup:

http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/ProductDocumentation/configuring_smsc_connec tions/HTTP_SMSC.htm

Also, here's another thread where I talk about some of these same issues:

Anyway, it is really the SMS part of the MMS notification process that is the biggest challenge. But it is also worth mentioning that for pure IP environments where it is not necessary to test the SMS notification part of the process, there is a way for the MMS notification to be sent over pure IP if supported by the devices, and if you can configure the devices to use static IP addresses. This approach is described at the following link:
