SMTP server not active

Hi

Im having trouble getting the MMSC SMTP server running.
I followed the config guide, but neither SMTP or POP3 is working.
It doesn't even start listening on port 25 or 110 if i run a netstat command on the server.
But it does listen on the HTTP port 8080.
The logfiles doesn't give any clues what so ever.
Any suggestions on how to make the SMTP -> SMS working?

Aside from another server having those ports active (which netstat -a -n would show), I can't think of any issues.

Well, there is one ... by any chance did you first install NowSMS Lite and then install the full NowSMS over it? If so, remove the services and then re-install (uncheck "Run as a service" and then recheck to install).

Beyond that, enable the MMSCDEBUG.LOG, and let's take a look at what it reports after the service is restarted.

Hi Des

I removed and added the services and it fixed the issue.
The setup is some years old, so I guess it was first installed as the lite version and then upgraded to the full version.
There was just no need for the SMTP option before now :)
