HI I attach the video file and I send a MMS. I input From:1111, Subject:test in the Send MMS Message page. When I receive MMS, From and Subject are different. From is mms-editor@att.com and subject is MPEG4/AMR Video. Why from and subject don't change? I attach test video file. Thanks

Hi, How exactly are you sending the MMS message out? I'm guessing that you are using a GSM modem configured to send via your mobile operator's MMSC (AT&T). In this scenario, you CANNOT override the From: address. The From: address will be set to match the phone number associated with the SIM card by the modem. That process is done by the mobile operator's MMSC. It appears that the mobile operator's MMSC believes that the recipient cannot handle video/3gpp content, and it is deciding that the content must be converted. Unfortunately that is outside of our control. I do find it extremely odd that the From: address would be set to an arbitrary e-mail address instead of the phone number associated with the modem. Is your recipient an e-mail address? If so, the operator MMSC has a very weird policy of how it converts MMS video content to e-mail. (Have you tried sending the same MMS content to the same recipient using the MMS client on a phone?) -- Des NowSMS Support |
