Hi,

Your WAP Gateway address is set to 74.49.0.18:80, correct?

Did the SIM come with the broadband device? If so, MMS may not be enabled for the SIM, which would explain the 403 Forbidden response.

In this case, can you try moving the SIM to a phone and test to see that the MMS client on a phone can send MMS?

This is one of the problems that we frequently see with broadband modems. Technically there is no reason for them not to support MMS, but mobile operators disable MMS for the devices as a policy. This is one of the reasons that we have developed support for using Android phones as modems, because MMS support should always be enabled if the operator sees the device as an Android phone.

If the SIM is ok for MMS in the phone, but not in the modem, then it may be an APN issue. When you are using a "Network:" connection, NowSMS cannot set the APN ... the APN is set by the modem software. If connected to the wrong APN, the MMSC may not receive your subscriber details, which is another potential explanation for a 403 Forbidden response.

From what I can see, Telus expects smart phones to use the APN sp.telus.com, but expects modems to use isp.telus.com. It is very likely that MMSC connectivity is not supported from isp.telus.com. You could try changing the APN in the modem software, but there are some operators that detect the device type and will disallow use of the other APN.

Overall, it may not make sense from a technical perspective, but for sending/receiving MMS, even though we are still only in beta with this support, I would strongly recommend using an Android phone as a modem, instead of using a dedicated modem device. Mobile operators just don't expect a modem to be able to send and receive MMS, so you have less issues with a device that the operator expects to be support MMS.
