[SMS-IN]
ModemName=Standard 33600 bps Modem #33
Sender=+1[Number MMS is sent to]
PhoneNumber=+18053008752
SCTS=20140927173728
Data=Free Msg: Unable to send message to [Number MMS is sent to]. Please try again without a symbol in the text.
ReceivedSMSC=+12063130028

I get this, (and several more like it) for every attempt I make to send an MMS to a test number on Verizon. Im not sure what exactly to do about this, i have several modems and am trying to send out an mms on a specific one using the web interface.
They are on TMobile, when I try to mms another tmobile number I got the notification but im not sure if it was the phone or modem, but i couldn't download the image.
All of this is using the internal MMSC on some wavecom modems that I did setup windows modem drivers for.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

You cannot use the internal MMSC in your configuration. You could fix the settings so that it would work to send to T-Mobile numbers, but all other US operators block mobile originated WAP Push, which is used by the internal MMSC/direct delivery setting. (For more technical discussion see http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm)

When sending MMS messages via a modem, you need to configure NowSMS to send messages via the operator MMSC.

This quick start guide explains the setup process for this configuration with a modem: http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/quickstartguide/NowSMSQuickStart3.pdf

Note that generally speaking, you will see better MMS over a modem performance with NowSMS using Android devices and the companion app, especially if considering multiple modems. The setup process also configures both SMS and MMS at the same time. Details on that config here: http://www.nowsms.com/now-sms-mms-android-modem-quick-start-guide

Thank you for the information. If this is the case, is there a parameter (like MMSSender, MMSSubject, MMSText) I can set to select the route when interfacing over the http connection? We have a large number of modems, and I need to control which one is used to send sms/mms messages.

For an HTTP submission, there is support for an MMSCRoute= parameter to force the routing. (That is a relatively recent addition, so it may not be available if running a pre-2013 version.)

Thank you, this is quite helpful, but now when i try to send sms, i keep getting a CMS error 310 that i have not gotten before. it seems to be happening randomly to the modems, once i sent from another modem and the one that didn't send and the new one immediately came through... any thoughts?

Weird.

There is a CMS error code list at http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/829.html

CMS ERROR 310 is "SIM not inserted", so that is odd unless SIM cards are falling out for some reason.
