When my server is behind a firewall, are there any ports that should be open to inbound for nowsms to work properly.
Has there been any changes since this ;http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/463.html

Lars,

Just the HTTP port for the MMSC needs to be open (and the SMTP port if you wanted to make that publicly accessible, which you probably don't). This is to allow mobile phones to retrieve MMS or multimedia WAP push content where the gateway is acting as the MMSC.

The issue that gets confusing with a firewall is when you send an MMS message through the web interface. NowSMS creates the MMS message content file on the MMSC, and then tries to validate the URL before sending it out in an MMS notification. This can be a problem with some firewalls that don't let a host inside the firewall connect back through the firewall to a host's externally accessible address.

If this URL validation is a problem, you can either use a HOSTS file (described in the thread you reference), or there is a new trick that forces MMS messages to be routed via the MMSC which is described in the 10th message on this thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/36.html. Although that thread was dealing with another issue, NowSMS skips this URL validation step in v5.0 when there are any external MMSC Outbound routes defined.
